Dive / Search / Find

Dive teams are highly capable but come with a large logistics burden and sending them down to do dangerous tasks risks life.  IR products specialise in both human/robot interface for joint missions, but also the ability to upload some target images and leave the vehicle to search and then alert you when it has found them.

Aquaculture

Fish farming is a challenging but critical role. IR has an Ocean supercluster project with a large Aquaculture company to advance the use of robotics for net inspection and invasive species detection and reporting.  IR’s products have tested extensively in this environment and bring new capabilities.

Our applications

The benefits and uses for autonomous solutions, both hardware and software, are enormous. These key fields are where our current focus lays.

Research (Robotics)

This is where we started and is the DNA, heritage and extensive network of our founders. Our systems have open architecture allowing researches to and and customize their own developments and capabilities - a distributed platform that continues to advance the frontier of robotics, and contributes positively to our future solutions.

Environment Impact Monitoring

Open operating systems allow simple configuration of new sensors - allowing measurement of environmental impact in the local waters - from turbidity to chloroform and carbon - IR;s products survey and produce rapidly exploitable data with minimal logistics

Security

Under the keel, by a power station or seabed cable - our critical infrastructure is more vulnerable than ever.  IR products all autonomous security patrols and change detection - continually re-inforcing learning an alerting on change or intruder detection.

We continue to expand carefully into new sectors where our customers and the demand pulls us. Here are some examples where our innovations represent significant value and benefits

IR and…. Aquaculture

IR and…. robotics faculties

IR and…. the Navy

Independent Robotics were contracted to the Royal Canadian Navy for testing of new use cases between 2022 and 2023. This included 4 weeks of live testing with the team from Fleet Diving Unit (Atlantic) in Shearwater, Nova Scotia.

Embarking on a transformative journey, we ventured to redefine maritime exploration through three key phases:

Tethered Hull Inspection

Merging manual control with real-time data collection, we inspected the Harry DeWolf-class vessel's hull, setting the groundwork.

Autonomous Seafloor Inspection

Embracing autonomy, we navigated the depths using advanced planners and sensors, uncovering hidden insights.

Autonomous Diver Companion

Aiding divers in training and underwater tasks, our technology leads the way, uniting expertise and innovation.
